AuxiliaryThe SPEA is an organization that provides scholarships to deserving petroleum students at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Meetings are held once a month from September to May during which lunch is available for a fee. MISSION STATEMENT: The purpose of this organization shall be to render service to the men's organization and to provide new friendship and social contacts for the wives of said organization. The income of this organization shall be derived from the payment of dues and from such sources as may be approved by the executive board. An annual scholarship of $1,000-$5,000 which will be awarded in the Fall semester and $500 in the Spring semester will be disbursed to the recipient. The Auxiliary will deposit $1,000 into the account each August until the endowed portion of the scholarship produces appropriate interest. If you are a spouse of an SPE member and would like additional information or would like to become an SPE Auxiliary member for the 2010-2011 year, please contact Susan Lavergne via email ljlavergne@aol.com or (337) 984-3699.
